Description

T2 Hedeby/Haithabu Arrow head.

We are delighted to present these wonderful close copies of the original head, they are made in the sunny North of  England from Mild steel (High Carbon available upon request POA)

The T2, of which 23 were found in the original collection. It is a tanged broadhead measuring 95mm in total, of which 22mm is the tang. The tang transitions from 3mm square to less than 0.5mm, and has been left annealed to that slight bends can be applied by the fletcher to tune up the fit of the head to the shaft.

The head consists of two parts; the blade and the ferrule, differentiated by the red arrow. The datum is slightly tapered, measuring 6mm in diameter at the tang’s shoulder, and 8mm in diameter at the transition to the blade. The blade is 4mm thick at the spine, 52mm long and 12mm in width at it’s widest point.
