Dublin Pouch, Islandbridge 800-900 AD

Viking Graves and Grave-Goods in Ireland (Medieval Dublin Excavations 1962-81, Series B, vol.11 2014)


We are delighted to offer for sale these close copy of the original pouch excavated from Graves in Dublin and dates to the 8th-9th Century AD.

The original had a copper alloy edge surround on the flap and main body, it is omitted in our interpretation.

It is a one piece pouch made from veg- tan bovine leather with a veg-tan leather strap bridge and plate closure system.

The Bridge, Plate and strap collar are all  hand made from copper alloy in our Yorkshire work shop.

You can fit a good sized hoard of coins or a flint and steel set in this pouch.

Suitable for portrayal of a 8th – 9th C ‘European’ persona.

This pouch is accepted for use within:

The Vikings (NFPS)

Regia Anglorum.
